Am i reading too much into this ?

I was lamenting that sometimes my hubby doesn't update me with his whereabouts. My guy friend said that he's quite sure my hubby will update me, probably it just slipped my mind and for himself, he'll definitely let his wife know his schedule if he is married (he is single). The confusing and mixed signal comes when the next day, he actually told me what is his own schedule. Is he trying to convey a hidden message or i'm reading too much into it?
