I want to live somewhere untouched by modern society?

Somewhere without city's, maybe cars, computers. Somewhere where life can be a lot simpler. Preferably in Eastern Asia. Where you get what you need and you work for it. Can you think of anywhere that may be like this. As of now I live in the US. And I can tell that I won't be happy here. I need a different sort of life.
