Should I stay or should I go?

My boyfriend of 8 months recently told me he does not believe in marriage due to religious reasons (aka he does not believe in god). To my dismay, he told me this after we signed a year lease on an apartment. I, however, am confused because I feel we are headed in different directions in life. Granted we have not been together long enough to even consider marriage, I am concerned that there will be no potential in the future. I don't want to play house for the rest of my life. Should I break it off now or stay and hope he eventually changes his mind?
