Can Rent a Center call the police if you refuse to let them in?
Note** I am not trying to blatantly refuse to give them back their merchandise, or steal anything. Here is the deal. To make a long story short, I rented from them in my previous town, I moved and picked up my lease agreement where I left off in my new town. My husband works out of town, and he called to tell them we would be in a week late to make a double payment (which we did frequently in the past, and the other store had no problem with it as we always paid), they said that was fine and would notate the account. Well a day before we were scheduled to pay, they started calling my husbands place of employment, and getting very ugly. So I told my husband not to pay, and told them to come get their stuff...They came by when I was showering (apparently they don't believe in scheduling anything) so I told my son to tell them to come back after the following day after five when my husband was home, they then made fun of him..They came at 2 instead of 5 the next day!! When I did not let them in they trashed my yard with hundreds of door fliers..I mean they strung them everywhere!!! then they violated my privacy by breaking the third party disclosure law, when they told my neighbor personal info about my account.. I took pictures of the yard mess, and have two witnesses to the privacy violation, but I don't want these guys in my house..so I have told the company to make other arrangements to come get their stuff such as sending the store manager to supervise, they are completely un cooperative. So what is your advice?? Thank you
