Should people in same- relationships be given equal rights under US immigration law?

If the Catholic Churches believed in human rights for all than they should not be giving everybody a recipe for life and saying they oppose something that is really none of their business.It's a slap in the face to us Americans who have had enough of illegals coming here. The Catholic Churches have enough problems with scandals of their own and cover ups and pay outs, lawsuits ,so no they do not have a say in this.The people are going to be together any way...
