Kingdom Hearts 2 : Defeating Xemnas?

I've read all the answers given on other peoples questions, and they make sense, but whenever he captures Sora and you play as Riku to rescue him, I try to walk TOWARDS Sora and the real Xemnas, and it seems that it won't let me walk there. Any clue on what to do? Or tips?
