Should I forgive her?

A while back, me and my close friend were fighting because she said some not so nice things to me. She was being an all around b**** so I just stop being friends with her. Now like 3 months later, summer break barely started and I had moved on with my life. This girl sends me a long text saying stuff like how lonely she is and how she tried to muster up courage to talk to me but couldn't. She also says this stuff like how much she really misses me as friend and how sincerely sorry she is for being a jerk to. I feel bad because she says stuff like she's been crying herself to sleep because of how horrible she feels. What should I do? Should I reply back? If so, what should I say? What she said to me really hurt me, but I kind of just want to start over and forgive her already.
